DAY 3: QUILTCON: BACK FOR SECONDS
Today is another chance to dive deep into QuiltCon. Revisit favorite
exhibits, catch up on booths you missed, or just soak in the energy of the
quilting world’s most dynamic event. Whether you’re collecting ideas or
stocking up on one-of-a-kind 昀椀nds, today’s all about fueling your creative
昀椀re. And don’t worry—your suitcase can handle a little extra yardage. B
DAY 4: THREADS OF THE PAST
This morning, we bid farewell to Raleigh and make our way to historic
Winston-Salem. Our 昀椀rst stop: Old Salem Museums & Gardens, a
beautifully preserved 18th-century Moravian settlement. Walk cobblestone streets, peek into traditional homes and workshops, and witness
how skilled artisans created beauty in everyday life—from pottery and
woodworking to textiles and, yes, quilting. Next, you’re in for a rare treat:
a private connoisseur tour at the Museum of Early Southern
Decorative Arts (MESDA). Led by a textile scholar, this experience
showcases a remarkable quilt collection and early American craftsmanship that’s as rich in story as it is in stitch. After lunch on your own, enjoy
time to shop and explore Old Salem’s shops. Don’t leave without trying
the warm, spiced Moravian cookies at Winkler Bakery—a tradition
baked since 1800. On the way to our downtown hotel, we’ll stop at the
Winston-Salem Visitors Center for a special treat from the donut
company made famous here—Krispy Kreme. B D
DAY 5: CRAFT AND CULTURE IN BLUE RIDGE
Today’s route takes us along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, where
rolling mountains and forested hills make every mile a photo op. In
Asheville, we’ll stop at the Folk Art Center, a showcase for the Southern
Highland Craft Guild, where handmade traditions still thrive in glass, 昀椀ber,
wood, and more. Next, head downtown to explore the Grove Arcade,
a historic architectural gem 昀椀lled with local boutiques, galleries, and
delicious lunch options. After some browsing and a bite, we check into
our hotel and settle in for our two-night Asheville stay. B
and unforgettable memories at our customary Farewell Dinner,
where Southern comfort food gets a fresh twist. B D
DAY 7: ASHEVILLE TO CHARLOTTE – TOUR ENDS

fabric lovers—a visit to Asheville Cotton Co., a cheerful and color-packed
quilt shop known for its wide selection of fabrics, creative kits, and friendly
sta昀昀. It’s the perfect place to snag a 昀椀nal souvenir or inspiration for your
next project. Enjoy lunch on your own nearby before departing for the
Charlotte airport, your suitcase (and stash!) a little fuller than when you
